Sajnálattal tesszük közzé a szomorú hírt, hogy elhunyt dr. Szabolcsi László, aki 1975-1992 között volt a Nyíregyházi Főiskola Kémia Tanszékének vezetője. Temetése: 2025. április 30-án 15:00 órakor lesz Nyíregyházán az Északi temető főbejárati ravatalozójából. Emlékét kegyelettel megőrizzük...

Dr. Szabolcsi László szakmai pályafutásának első fontos állomása a Nyíregyházi Kossuth Lajos Gimnázium volt, ahol 10 éven keresztül eredményes oktató-nevelő munkát végzett, majd az abból létrejött Ipari Szakközépiskola igazgatója lett 1965–68 között. A középiskolai tanulóifjúság körében munkapszichológiai vizsgálatokat végzett a szakmai ismeretek megtanulási folyamatának tökéletesebb megértése céljából.

A Bessenyei György Tanárképző Főiskola Kémia Tanszékére 1968-ban került.

A Kémia Tanszéknek időbeli sorrendben a második oktatója és második tanszékvezetője. Nagy szerepe volt a tanszéki munka megalapozásában, az általános iskolai kémia-tanárképzés feltételének megteremtésében és folyamatos továbbfejlesztésében. Munkatársaival együttműködő, mások véleményét figyelembe vevő, segítséget nyújtó vezetőnek ismertük meg. Figyelmet fordított a gyakorló iskolai szaktanárok szakvezetői munkájára is. A tudományos ismeretterjesztésből is kivette részét, mint a TIT megyei kémia szakcsoportjának elnöke és a TIT Választmány vezetőségi tagja. Tudományos munkáiban agrokémiai és biokémiai témákkal, valamint a kémia-tanárképzés és kémia tanítás módszertani problémáival foglalkozott.

Eredményesen oktatta az általános és fizikai kémia tárgyat. A hallgatókkal szemben tanúsított magas szintű tudást megkövetelő, humánus magatartása közismert. Munkásságát fémjelzi az a tény, hogy a tanszékről kikerült több mint 700 kémia tanár döntő többsége elismerten magas színvonalú oktató-nevelő munkát végez az általános iskolákban. Kollégái által is elismert szerénysége, önzetlensége, nagyfokú segítőkészsége is hozzájárult ahhoz, hogy a tanszéken dolgozó fiatalabb oktatógárda bekapcsolódott az ország tudományos életének vérkeringésébe, és a főiskola Kémia Tanszékének munkája országos fórumokon is sok elismerést kapott. 1980-ban Kiváló Munkáért kitüntetést, 1985-ben TIT aranykoszorús jelvényt kapott. 1994-ben a Magyar Felsőoktatásért Emlékéremmel tüntették ki. 1993-ban nyugdíjba vonult. Kapcsolata a tanszékkel ezután sem szakadt meg, sokrétű, tapasztalatokban gazdag ismereteivel továbbra is segíti munkánkat.
